What is giant fornix syndrome?

If there are deep set eyes, there may be a large space under the top lid where a chronic infection can develop. Double eversion of the lid can help detect the problom.

The infection may be Staph aureus, with a protein coagulam


  • remove the protein coagulam
  • topical antibiotics, chloramphenicol, 
  • steroids drops
  • systemic antibiotics
  • bathe the formix with iodine
  • Look for floppy lid,
  • It occurs after after latanoprost like drops
